Please note, the below instructions for Mitel Connect client will work with the primary assignments.
To set a unique greeting for each call handling mode (e.g. a different message depending on what your availability is), please do the following:
- Open the Mitel Connect client.
- Click the drop-down arrow next to "Connect" at the top-left of the window.
- Click the "Settings" option.
- Click the "Call Routing" tab on the left-hand side.
- Click save if Availability Routing is greyed out.
- Change the drop-down to whatever call handling mode you'd like to modify.
- Click the "Record" button (see the bottom of this page for information on the other options available beyond recording a message).
- Ensure the recording state is set to use the desk phone (see the red circle below).
- Click the "Record New Greeting" button.
- Click the red "REC" button and your desk phone will ring.
- After you've finished recording, click the red stop button.
- Save the recording by clicking the "Save Recording" button to keep the changes. Click the "Discard Recording" button to abandon the changes.
- Click the "Save" button at the bottom of the wizard.
- Note that you may change the settings on the other pages if you wish but there is no need to do so if you wish only to update the voicemail message for the call handling state.
- The first option sets what numbers will ring. With this you can ring multiple extensions or even external numbers when you receive a call.
- The second option will let you decide how many rings, if any, a call handling mode should have, and what should happen when it is done ringing (i.e. send to another person or go to voicemail box).
- The fourth option determines if a voicemail can be left. This option would allow a message to be set and played but end the call before allowing anyone to record a voice message.
- The fifth option lets you assign a destination should the caller dial "0" when your voicemail is playing. It is recommended that you mention this in the course of the voice greeting so callers know it is available.
